Marie & Matthew - Keene, NY

On Monday evening, Christine and I met up with Marie & Matthew out in Marcy Field in Keene. We started in the field, then moved to another field (closer to town), and then (just in time for the skies to open up and pour the rain) we headed back to the river. We had so much fun with this sweet couple; we just couldn't stop laughing. (We almost lost Christine in the tall grass;-)

Meghan & Chris - Lake Placid, NY

Early early early (did I mention early?) on Sunday morning, I met up with Meghan & Chris at the trail head to McKenzie Pond. We, of course, did not get very far and weren't really attempting to hike, but it was still a great little stroll through the woods. It was so much fun to find little pockets of light in these dense woods; there were some really cool effects from the limited light. Meghan & Chris will be getting married on October 6 at the Whiteface Club & Resort in Lake Placid. We can't wait!

Melissa & Brian - Saranac Lake, NY

This morning, I met up with Melissa and Brian at the Saranac Lake Train Station for the Adirondack Scenery Railroad. I love this spot simply because you get a lot of variety in one location (even though part of it looks pretty junky when you drive up). Melissa and Brian are such a sweet couple: so sweet to each other that I hardly gave them any direction on what to do. And, check out that rock on her hand!! Beautiful! I am so looking forward to their wedding on September 7 at the Belhurst Castle in Geneva.

Allison & Brent - Lake Colby, NY

Well, it is 11:30pm, and my husband is asleep and our lovely dinner guests have left... and I just got sucked in! I was just too excited about this engagement session to go to bed. So, here it is! The preview to the engagement session I had this evening with Allison & Brent... I just love the image of them on their bikes; it took a lot of misses to get this hit (this affect is accomplished by setting the shutter very slow and panning with the moving object at the same speed as the object). It was tricky, but I love it. And, did I forget to mention that I just loved being around these guys- Allison laughed through the entire session! Even though it was freezing outside, we still managed to have fun! Thanks guys!

P.S. Allison & Brent will be getting married on September 15 down in Cooperstown, NY.

Julie & Jonathan - Lower Saranac Lake

Well, I am home at last (sans a working laptop and a reasonable amount of sleep)! ;-) So, I am FINALLY getting around to posting images from Julie & Jonathan's engagement session from last Tuesday- yes, GASP, a week ago -on Lower Saranac Lake. They were so much fun to be around; we just hopped onto their boat and road out to an island and enjoyed a glass of wine... such a relaxed session (and they said they were nervous! ha). I can't wait for their June 23 wedding!

Kelly & Phil's Engagement

Yesterday, Chris and I headed out to Paul Smith's College for an engagement session with Kelly & Phil, who are both graduates of the college. Kelly won this session at the Lake Placid Bridal Show this past January, and they will be getting married on August 25 at John Brown's Farm with reception at the Hotel Saranac... This made me think of Joanna & Mike that were married at the farm on August 26 last year with reception at the hotel... strange. :-) At any rate, Chris and I really enjoyed getting to know this sweet couple a little, and we wish them the very best for their wedding and marriage!

Brette & John's First Anniversary!

Congratulations to Brette & John on their first anniversary! On Thursday afternoon, I met them in the town center in Hiawassee, GA for a shoot to celebrate their anniversary since they were not able to have an engagement session before the wedding. I had such a blast with them- especially on that sweet vintage car!

Many of you blog readers are likely to immediately recognize this lovely couple as they graced many spots on my site, four pages in wellwed magazine, and the cover of the Adirondack Bridal Showcase. They have only become cuter this year!

Stephanie & Matthew - Rock Hill, SC

Early Saturday morning, I left Columbia for an engagement shoot with Stephanie and Matthew at a garden right across from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. After getting lost for 30 minutes, I was nervous that we were running out of good lighting, but the shaded garden saved the day. And, I just love how these came out! Thank you guys so much for waking up too early for a portrait session. :-) Side note: Matthew is Jane's brother (Jane was our November 4 bride that will be featured on theKnot.com very soon).
